Two cool quotes, both from Piper:
“We both want to speak in a way that is NOT boring about the greatest things in the world and is not worn out and tired and hackneyed. It is a sin to bore people with God. So pray for us. The line is fine between choosing words to strike the soul with glory and strike a clever pose.”
“Good grief. I am glad I don’t read the web very much. I would sin with anger too much. “Roaring debate” !– these people have too much time on their hands.”

thanks Hoag, I do what I can.
The interesting thing in this for me right now, is that I’m reading Spurgeon’s The Soul Winner. So C.H. is talking about how we communicate the Gospel. Whether in a preaching ministry or in our friendships generally, we need to speak gracious salt-laden words. It is interesting to me how frequently the dividing line comes back to Romans 2:29…
“But a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.”
I think Piper and Driscoll are “Jews inwardly”, and that’s why I’m a toadie.
